I have a devotional book called declaring God’s Word by Derek Prince which has page for each day of the year. Over the last couple of days the subject has been forgiveness.
Derek explains that there are so many benefits to forgiving people and being forgiven. One benefit is actual physical healing which he uses David’s Psalm 32:2-5 to show that when David admitted he had sinned concerning Bathsheba he was set free from his bones wasting away.
Psalms 32:2-5 NKJV Blessed is the man to whom the LORD does not impute iniquity, And in whose spirit there is no deceit. 3 When I kept silent, my bones grew old Through my groaning all the day long. 4 For day and night Your hand was heavy upon me; My vitality was turned into the drought of summer. Selah 5 I acknowledged my sin to You, And my iniquity I have not hidden. I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the LORD,” And You forgave the iniquity of my sin. Selah
Derek then recounts a story of a doctor who said a lady was in a coma with her kidneys failing and in a bad state. The doctor felt led to pray this over the woman “In the Name of Lord Jesus Christ, I remit your sins”. A week later he saw the woman up and walking around town completely healed. Derek also states in all his years of counselling people was a big issue that needed to be addressed as part of the process.
Sickness and disease can be linked to us not having forgiven someone or us actually receiving forgiveness from others.
Forgiveness is very powerful force.
Is there anyone who you have not forgiven? Please do so quickly and with your whole heart.
